AI Solution for the Chemical Industry (undisclosed)
I am currently designing and developing an AI solution for a multinational company in the chemical industry. The project covers several use cases: implementing an AI chatbot to support the interactive onboarding of new clients, and deploying AI models to automatically predict and identify potential issues arising from client-provided data.
AI & Gamification: The SCHMEER-Bot
A client wanted to add a playful feature to their website to attract new employees to their tax consultancy agency. The aim was to find a fresh, interactive way to communicate the agency’s values and work culture. The result is the SCHMEER-Bot: a deliberately quirky AI chatbot that engages visitors in a quiz—which may take some unexpected turns.

Game Design: Fishing Friends 3D
Google Play | App Store | Steam PC & Mac | Web (coming soon)
After several years in development, Robot Riot has just released Fishing Friends 3D into soft launch on Android and iOS! It’s the sequel to our long-running success The Fishing Club 3D, which we launched in 2013 and developed into a profitable games-as-a-service title with over 4 million players worldwide and a strong, loyal community.
Fishing Friends 3D builds on everything we’ve learned over the years, transforming that experience into a new game powered by the same “secret sauce” that made its predecessor successful.
We’re currently working on additional fishing locations and multiplayer features, and we’re preparing to bring the game to Steam and make it playable in web browsers.
It’s a huge effort for our small team at Robot Riot—building a new server backend from scratch while reusing as much client code as possible, all developed in Unity 6.
My contributions to Fishing Friends 3D include:
- Initial idea and concept
- Location design in Unity 6
- System design and balancing
- Monetization design
- Content design (quests, characters, storylines, etc.)
- Tool programming in Python and Google Apps Script
- Data analysis using Google BigQuery, GameAnalytics, SQL, and Python/Pandas
- Live Ops
Gamification: Straßenfuchs
UPDATE: The German state of Lower Saxony is going to use the software in schools from the 2025/26 school year.
“Straßenfuchs” is an interactive 3D software developed by Crushed Eyes and used by the Berlin Police Department for traffic education in primary schools.
As the story goes, the traffic teachers realized that their 40-year-old magnetic vehicles and traffic signs no longer stick to modern interactive whiteboards. They wanted a digital solution that incorporates training videos, worksheets, and—most importantly—the ability to create interactive traffic scenes that can be modified in real time. This offers a far better way to simulate real-life traffic situations than the outdated 2D paper-and-blackboard approach.
I designed the entire software with a 3D scene editor at its core. The challenge was to keep the interface as intuitive as possible—both for use on a PC with mouse and keyboard input, and for interaction via touchscreen.

Viking Raiders (Google Play | App Store)
We released Viking Raiders on Google Play and the App Store. Viking Raiders is a rogue-like, reverse-bullet-hell-action RPG commissioned by FDG Entertainment and developed by Robot Riot.
I handled the entire game design—concept, level, system, and monetization design—from the initial idea to launch. We had only a few months to develop the MVP in Unity. Instead of building our own server backend, we made extensive use of Firebase Remote Config for everything from storing and deploying levels, characters, items, and shop data, to balancing.
This was the first project where I heavily relied on ChatGPT to speed up scripting my own tools in Python and Google Apps Script, saving me countless days of research and development.
Gamification: DappRadar
DappRadar asked me to help them design and balance Season 2 of their popular Rewards feature (Quests, Airdrops, etc.). Season 2 is now live.

Other projects I worked on in 2024:
- Gamification: I am advising a web3 Fintech start-up on their user engagement and gamification strategy.
- Preparing the soft-launch for Robot Riot’s new cross-platform free-to-play fishing game “Fishing Friends”.

Quintana Quest
UPDATE: Quintana Quest has won the App of the Month Award!

Having started my career in Game Design by designing and producing Point & Click adventures back in the 90’s, Quintana Quest was quite a back-to-the-roots project for me. This browser-based Visual Novel/Point & Click Adventure is set in 173 CE, at the frontier of the Roman Empire along the Danube River in Bavaria.
Commissioned by the Museum Quintana in Künzing, “Quintana Quest” was developed by crushed eyes media. Game art was created by Sasanpix.
My role involved developing the game’s concept and narrative, turning the archaeologists’ input into a storyline that brings historical characters, events, and places to life.
The game is designed for use in secondary school history curriculums, offering a new way for students to engage with history.
As a history nerd, working on this project with archaeologists and diving deep into research was an incredible opportunity and great fun. I learned a lot. History does not repeat itself, but it often rhymes. Many thanks to Roman Weindl for making “Quintana Quest” a reality!
Other projects I worked on in 2023:
- Work on “Fishing Friends” the successor to Robot Riot’s “The Fishing Club 3D”.
- I advised dappradar.com on their gamification strategy.
- Ongoing support for The Fishing Club 3D.
2022
- Game Design for Skill Shot Darts & Skill Shot Pool in cooperation with Skillz.com.
2013 – 2024
- Product Owner for the cross-platform free-to-play game The Fishing Club 3D.
Games-as-a-Service / f2p
- The Fishing Club 3D. This is the main project I have been working on since 2013. TFC is a free-to-play 3D fishing game that we developed at Robot Riot and launched in 2013 on Facebook Canvas. I worked on all aspects of the game design – from initial concept, system design, level/location design in Unity3D to creative writing/content creation and balancing. Robot Riot is a very small team, so after launch I not only continued to design new features and content but also took care of user acquisition (starting with a $40 Facebook Ads voucher), analytics and customer support. Making more right than wrong decisions we were able to grow The Fishing Club 3D into a profitable business and cross-platform game experience that is now available on Facebook Gameroom, Steam, Windows 10 Store, iOS and Android – and soon again on Facebook Canvas (WebGL).
